Women in Food Industry Management Honour the Pursuit of Excellence!

Susanne Mikler becomes the new Chair of the WFIM organization, accepting the reigns from Donna Messer.

On Dec. 6th, 2006, the membership of Women in Food Industry Management presented the Women in Pursuit of Excellence awards for 2006. This year WFIM honoured Cara Loncar, Marketing Manager for Reuven International, as Women of the Year and Georgina Atkinson as Entrepreneur of the Year.

The award depicts an Inukshuk, a Canadian symbol for Making a Difference. The award was presented to both Locar and Atkinson for enlightened management, responsible leadership, and personal contributions to Women in Food Industry Management and the entire food community.

Cara Loncar of Reuven is WFIM Woman of the Year, recognized for her work within the industry as well as her contributions and support to the association and its members and within the community. Cara has been a valuable team member, and great networker to many industry women over the years in addition to her tireless efforts on behalf of Second Harvest, an industry supporter of the Food Bank. This award is one way to express the associations gratitude for her mentorship and guidance.

Georgina Atkinson is honoured as WFIM Entrepreneur of the Year for her outstanding leadership, entrepreneurship and contributions to the industry. Georgina contributes her success to her belief in responsible networking, and while others have assisted her, she has mentored them through her determination, drive and unrelenting spirit.

If you are a woman in the food industry and youd like to meet others like Cara & Georgina, please visit www.wfim.ca, or contact Susanne Mikler, Chair at 416-990-5083 or Rae Johnson, Administrative Assistant 905-338-5099, admin@wfim.on.ca. Photos of Award winners available on request.
